Hailed as ‘remarkable’ by The Daily Telegraph, Matilda Lloyd is a young instrumentalist with exceptional poise and musicality. She studied music at the University of Cambridge, Royal Academy of Music, and with HAkan Hardenberger at Musikhogskolan i Malmo.

Jean Cocteau wrote the Beautiful Indifferent in 1940 for an actress Edith Piaf. For the first time, the Virêvolte ensemble puts it to music and commissions Jean-Marie Machado, with the support of the Cocteau Committee, to create a tailor-made jazz opera. It will be directed by Emmanuel Olivier and premiered in December 2021 at the Center of the Banks of the Marne and then performed throughout France.

Tenor Daniel Behle and two of his favourite composers: Strauss & Wagner. Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss are the two great musical fixed stars in the musical world of tenor Daniel Behle. At the 2021 Bayreuth Festival he was heard as David in the "Meistersinger", in Dortmund and soon in Amsterdam he will be heard in the title role of "Lohengrin".

Having completed her studies at the St Petersburg Conservatory and then at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under Tamara Novichenko and Anna Samouil, Julia Muzychenko-Greenhalgh won Second Prize at the Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition in Barcelona.

At the head of the soloists of the Royal Opera Orchestra, Stephane Fuget works on the ornamentation in the time-honored traditional manner, giving meaning to each phase, and bringing out the brilliance of this apotheosis of French baroque singing.

Counter-tenor Franco Fagioli makes his Pentatone debut with Anime Immortali, together with the Kammerorchester Basel, exploring the music that Mozart composed for castratos. Ranging from opera to sacred music and culminating in Exsultate, jubilate, the recorded works share a sublime and profound character, demonstrating Mozart’s strong connection to the castrato voice. With this album, Fagioli finally returns to the composer that inflamed his desire to become a musician during his youth.

Ivan Repušić made his debut as principal conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra in September 2017 with Giuseppe Verdi's "Luisa Miller". It was followed by "I due Foscari" in October 2018 and "Attila" in October 2019 (the complete recordings have already been released by BR-KLASSIK on CD 900323, 900328 and 900330). His successful cycle of early masterpieces by the Italian opera composer continues with the recent concert performance on April 23, 2023 of Verdi's stage work "I Lombardi" – also at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

Like all castrati, Gaetano Berenstadt's hormones had gone crazy, but Berenstadtis were particularly strong. With a height of about 185 cm, he is said to have had 130 cm long legs, arms that were far too short and a corpulent belly; a field day for the caricaturists. But when he stood on the opera stage and sang, he was idolised.
