Philippe Jaroussky dedicates his album to the librettist Pietro Metastasio: the famous countertenor with a passion for musical rediscoveries gathers on "Forgotten Arias" works of today almost forgotten opera compositions of the High Baroque.

The Cinematic Orchestra have announced a 20th anniversary tour & audio reissue of their seminal 2003 album “Man With A Movie Camera.” The live shows will feature songs from the album with all new visuals, celebrating the release across Europe. The 2LP limited edition comes in ashen and pewter grey coloured vinyl, housed in a rigid tip-on foiled, embossed and debossed detail gatefolded sleeve with updated artwork and new liner notes. This reissue will include 12” double sided art card insert of unseen session photography from the time.

The rock opera by the Eurythmics cofounder is due to premiere at the Rome Film Festival, with its LP to release 20th October. Acclaimed artist and Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart has announced the formation of a brand-new creative collective, The Time Experience Project, alongside the collective's first release.

ATUM is a rock opera presented in three acts by inimitable American rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. The album tells an epic interplanetary story set in the not-too-distant future, though the songs themselves respectively stand on their own in the Pumpkins pantheon. This is the final instalment in a concept album trilogy, which began with 1995’s Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness and then continued with 2000's Machina/The Machines of God. The album features three original members of the band—William Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin—as well as long-time guitarist Jeff Schroeder. Corgan had been developing the idea for the rock opera for years, and the pandemic gave him the time off the road to meticulously complete it in the grandiose way he had intended.

The opera L’incontro improvviso (The Unexpected Encounter), a work set in Egypt’s Cairo when it was under Ottoman dominion, was the main musical attraction during the four days of festivities held at Esterház Castle, near Süttör, at the end of August 1775 and hosted by Prince Nikolaus I Esterházy. The occasion was a visit from the Viennese imperial court led by Ferdinand Karl, Empress Maria Theresia’s second youngest son, the later Governor of Lombardy and the founder of the House of Austria-Este.

Emilie Mayer was a German composer, sculptor, and co-director of the Berlin Opera, whose instrumental works were frequently performed in Germany and Central Europe . Born in Friedland, Mecklenburg, on May 14, 1821; died in Berlin on April 10, 1883.
