River

A new duo sees the light of the world! Isach Skeidsvoll (piano) and Akira Sakata (saxophone, vocals) release the album “Hidden River” on Nice Things Records 23. mai!

The follow-up to acclaimed pianist/composer Monty Alexander's Grammy-nominated 2011 release, 2014's "Harlem-Kingston Express, Vol. 2: River Rolls On" features more of Alexander's eclectic mix of reggae/jazz and Latin music. This is expansive, highly engaging music that crosses the boundaries between acoustic jazz, instrumental pop, fusion, and more.

"River Deep – Mountain High" is a single by Ike & Tina Turner released on Philles Records in 1966. It was considered by producer Phil Spector to be his best work.

Nicki Parrott is a premier jazz vocalist and string bass player. Born in Newcastle, Australia, Nicki started her musical training at age four with the piano, followed by the flute, soon after. Nicki switched to double bass at the age of 15. "Moon River" is Nicki Parrott's debut as a leader. The album received Swing Journal's "Best Jazz Vocal Album" award.

Eric Andersen Since rising out of the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s, Eric Andersen has maintained a prolific, adventurous, and varied career that spans folk, rock, country, blues, and beat poetry. Writing with a philosophical and poetic bent, he emerged alongside peers like Tom Paxton and Phil Ochs, and recorded a series of albums for the Vanguard label before finding mainstream success amid the singer/songwriter movement with his 1972 standout Blue River.

If Only There Was A River is the first full-length studio album from Anna st. Louis. The songwriter, who originally hails from Kansas City, began writing songs after moving to Los Angeles five years ago and has previously released a cassette of recordings on Woodsist / Mare Records, appropriately titled First Songs. The tape received notice from NPR: All Songs Considered, Pitchfork, and Stereogum. On her proper debut, St. Louis spreads her wings and expands on the promise hinted at on First Songs. To achieve that end, she enlisted Kyle Thomas (King Tuff) and Kevin Morby to produce the album, which was engineered by Thomas in his home in Mount Washington, LA.

Glasgow-based saxophonist Matt Carmichael releases his first album, Where Will the River Flow on Friday, March 12, 2021. The BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020 finalist, who is due to graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland this summer, recorded the album just before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold last March and is looking forward to getting his music out into the world.
