"The World Starts Tonight" is the debut studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, released in February 1977 by RCA Records. Most of the songs were written by Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, who worked as her managers while she was signed to RCA. They also produced the album alongside David Mackay. Musically, the album features country and pop songs. Two singles were released from the album. The first, "Lost in France", was certified silver by the BPI for sales of over 250,000 copies. "More Than a Lover" was also a hit, but failed to make progress in the UK Singles Chart after the BBC banned the song for its controversial lyrical content. Shortly after recording the album, Tyler had surgery to remove nodules from her vocal folds. The operation left Tyler with a permanently raspy voice.

efore her well-known collaborations with Meat Loaf producer Jim Steinman, Welsh-born singer Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins) performed off and on in her homeland with the R&B band Mumbles; nodules on her vocal cords prevented her from singing full-time until 1976, when she underwent an operation to have them removed. The surgery left her with a raspy, husky voice that proved an effective instrument and drew notice from writer/producers Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, who became her managers…

"Goodbye to the Island" is the 4th studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. It became her final work with RCA Records after it was released in January 1981. Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe wrote the majority of songs for the album, and co-produced the record with Hugh Murphy. Music critics described the album as "more upbeat" than her previous album Diamond Cut (1979). "Goodbye to the Island" had the weakest sales of all albums Tyler released through RCA, only charting in Norway at #38.

The best of Bonnie Tyler's work with Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, the production/writing team move more towards the pop side and away from the country flourishes which marked Tyler's first two albums. From the terrific opener "If You Ever Need Me Again" through to the closing "I'm a Fool," this is a solid collection of pop songs including soulful ballads ("Words Can Change Your Life"), saucy anthems ("My Guns Are Loaded") and moving singalongs ("Too Good to Last"). As with her two previous releases, there are also wonderfully interpreted covers ("Louisiana Rain" being the highlight). All in all, Diamond Cut is definitely the high point of Tyler's pre-Jim Steinman career and a dynamite showcase for Tyler's inimitable voice.

In THE STOLEN CHILD, Scott Perkins builds vast and stunning worlds out of a handful of voices. Vibrant, facile, and confident, Perkins' choir writing is state-of-the-art and makes a modern musical statement while retaining a clear attachment to choral music's longstanding tradition. To this end, Perkins' compositions seem to balance the fluid and direct expression of late Renaissance a cappella masterpieces, while also possessing a decidedly contemporary approach to timbre and texture.
