Of the many sunshine pop groups that proliferated in Southern California in the late '60s, the Love Generation were one of the most wholesome and downright sunniest. "Sunniest" is not necessarily synonymous with "best," even for a genre called "sunshine pop." The Love Generation's records were about as over-the-top as their name in their smiley-face, see-no-evil, upbeat, even anodyne harmonized pop/rock, commercial enough to often be mistaken for commercial jingles.

In 2014 the Sunshine Underground will release their third studio album partnering with PledgeMusic; a forward-thinking, direct-to-fan platform. The Shropshire band, as prominent members of the Leeds music scene, released their debut record ‘Raise The Alarm’ in 2006 on City Rockers / Sony Music following support from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and NME, who championed their early singles ‘Put You In Your Place’ and huge indie floor-filler ‘Borders’ and proclaimed them ‘new rave’s true heroes’.

Magic Peterson Sunshine is an indispensable compilation for the European jazz lover. It is the culmination of tireless archival digging by London-based DJ and audiophile Gilles Peterson, whose obsession with the German label MPS (née SABA) has resulted in this handpicked treasure trove of material. The label has near-mythic roots, founded as it was deep in the heart of Germany's Black Forest by the reclusive Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer, a.k.a. HGBS, whose house concerts and personal studio captured and released some of the most forward-thinking jazz of the 1960s. With over 500 recordings to his credit, a catalog surpassed only by producer Manfred Eicher of ECM Records in Munich, this is the merest slice of one astronomical pie.

Set to release on March 22nd on Resonance Records, Where The Sunshine Is Expensive is essentially a love letter to her adopted hometown of Los Angeles. Enchantment remain one of the most played R&B groups from the 1970’s on the R&B quiet storm format radio in the United States. SUNSHINE: THE ENCHANTMENT ANTHOLOGY (1975-1984) is the first ever 2CD collection of the group and includes all of their chart singles. Enchantment were formed in 1967 at Pershing High School in Detroit and secured their first recording contract two years later by winning first place in a talent contest sponsored by Detroit’s WCHB radio station. In 1970 Enchantment joined the renowned talent agency Artists International and developed their song and stage craft through the early seventies performing throughout the Detroit area. This period culminated in the group recording the soundtrack for the movie Deliver Us From Evil. A single from the soundtrack, ‘Call On Me’, was released on Polydor in 1975.
