Red Moon In Venus is a timeless, burning expression of desire, heartbreak, faith, and honesty, reflecting the divine femininity of the moon and Venus. The moon and Venus work together to make key aspects of love and domestic life work well. This body of work represents all levels of love - releasing people with love, drawing love into your life and self-love. It’s believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can send your emotions into a spin, and that’s what I felt represented this body of work best."
"Venus" is the compilation album by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue, released in 1990 by Castle Communications. The band spawned a number of psychedelic rock hits throughout the counterculture movements era during the 1960s and early 1970s, including Never Marry a Railroad Man, Mighty Joe, Love Buzz, Blossom Lady, Inkpot and "Venus". The latter became their biggest hit and went to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and many other countries during 1969 and 1970.
Written at the request of Louis XIV in honor of his sister-in-law, Henrietta of England, Lully's Le Ballet royal de la naissance de Vénus was performed in 1665 with Henrietta herself as the goddess of love and youth. This grandiose spectacle combining dancing, music and poetry, served the power of the king, while attesting to the magnificence of his court. Musically very inventive, it shows the culmination of the ballet genre. The recording, from Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques is completed by excerpts from Les Amours déguisés, Psyché, Le Bourgeois gentilhomme and Le Carnaval.
The ladies of Venus have combined their efforts to assemble Venus Sings: The Essential best Of Lady Jazz Vocals. Featured musicians include Nicki Parrott, Anna Kolchina, Simone, Laird Jackson & Tessa Souter.
Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa is the ninth studio album by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. It will be a concept album in the same vein as its predecessor Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder; this time centring on the demon Lilith, the first wife of the Biblical Adam. Unlike previous historically-based concept albums Godspeed and Cruelty and the Beast, Darkly, Darkly will tell an original story. "It's about the resurgence of Lilith into modern society as a deity," Filth said. "There's a bit of Victoriana in there. Essentially, at heart, it's a nice gothic horror story".
Excellent compiled with the participation of the greatest jazz musicians, produced by the label venus records in 2013. Highly recommended!
An Austrian singer who goes by her first name only, Simone was born in 1982 in a musical family. She started classical piano when she was 8 and began singing professionally at 15. The present album is her third for Venus Records. In this New York recording, Simone was supported by a superb piano trio. John Di Martino is a wonderful pianist from Philadelphia who plays both straight ahead and Latin jazz. Together with drummer Tim Horner, he has recorded several trio albums for the Venus label. George Mraz lends his hands in the bass chair and special guests Houston Person (tenor sax) and Dick Oatts (flute and soprano sax) add texture and color to the proceedings.
