Of Love and War, partly inspired by Eduardo Galeano’s novel Days and Nights of Love and War, draws parallels between the isolation and pent-up passions of wartime and the experiences of the current pandemic. Much of this repertoire was composed around the time of the First World War, but also embraces broader themes of beginnings and endings, night and day, love and loss.

Although he is chiefly known as a popular German television actor, Manfred Krug has also had careers as a film actor and as a pop-jazz singer. Born in Duisburg on February 8, 1937, he relocated to East Germany in 1949 at the age of 13, where he worked in a steel factory until he began acting on stage and in films in 1956. He recorded several successful pop-jazz albums in the early '70s, often in conjunction with composer Gunther Fischer. He also began a career as a writer under the alias Clemens Kerber. Frustrated with the political climate in East Germany (he had been forbidden to perform), Krug applied for and was granted permission to move to the West German portion of Berlin in 1977. Once settled there, he continued to act but sang and recorded only occasionally, and through the 1980s and 1990s and into the 21st century he has worked primarily as an actor in various television shows.

Sweeping virtual orchestrations and symphonic atmospheria.

- As befitting an action/adventure game steeped in the fantastical realms of Greek mythology, the soundtrack to God Of War is teeming with sweeping epic orchestral compositions that swirl, stomp, and storm throughout the hour of total running time. Granted much of the music was created virtually (sans real orchestra and choir in favor of electronic manipulation), but all but the most trained of ears would be hard-pressed to distinguish between what is real and what is virtual. by Spence D.

All This and World War II is a 1976 musical documentary that juxtaposes Beatles songs, performed by a number of musicians, with World War II newsreel footage and 20th Century Fox films from the 1940s. It lasted two weeks in cinemas and was quickly sent into storage. The original intention of the filmmakers was to use actual Beatles music in the film. The decision to use other artists covering Beatles music was made by the film's producers after they realised additional money could be made through a soundtrack album. The decision was a sound one, as the soundtrack actually generated more revenue than the film. The album reached number 23 on the UK album charts, with a total of seven weeks on the chart. Elton John’s rendition of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was previously released as a single in 1974 and had been a number one hit. Rod Stewart’s version of "Get Back" was subsequently released and became a UK hit single. Ambrosia’s cover version of "Magical Mystery Tour" was released and became a US hit single reaching #39 on the Billboard Charts. The Bee Gees, who contributed three songs, would go on to star in Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, another film that exclusively used Beatles songs.

War Child was Jethro Tull's first album after two chart-toppers, Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play, and was one of those records that was a hit the day it was announced (it was certified platinum based on pre-orders, the last Tull album to earn platinum record status). It never made the impression of its predecessors, however, as it was a return to standard-length songs following two epic-length pieces. It was inevitable that the material would lack power, if only because the opportunity for development that gave Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play some of their power.

This album encompasses four piano concertos by four Italian composers, two of which are first recordings. The music, featured here in chronological order, spans an extended period of time, from 1900 to 2015. The intention of the project is clear: to propose a trajectory that through this repertoire, not so frequent among Italian composers, allows discoveries, re-discoveries and new reflections on historic works.

The Music Band – Jazz is an album by War, the fifth and final entry in their "Music Band" series, released on MCA Records in 1983. It consists of outtakes from sessions for their 1979 albums The Music Band and The Music Band 2, and features several lineups of the band which existed that year. War were no longer recording for MCA when this album was released, and no singles from the album were issued. Track 1 was probably recorded/written in 1979 , when B.B. Dickerson was still in band and before Charles Miller was murdered. Track 2 could have been recorded/written anytime up to 1979.

Opening with the ominous, fiery protest of "Sunday Bloody Sunday," War immediately announces itself as U2's most focused and hardest-rocking album to date. Blowing away the fuzzy, sonic indulgences of October with propulsive, martial rhythms and shards of guitar, War bristles with anger, despair, and above all, passion.
