Remastered reissue of the former Deep Purple vocalist's collaboration album with former fellow Deep Purple bandmate Roger Glover. As opposed to DP burn and smash guitar and organ based sound, "Accidentally on Purpose" consists of mixture of lighter styles, including pop rock, tropical pop, rock'n'roll (played with taste and humor), and, specifically, synthesizer/bass driven sound. Ian Gillan considers it to be "one of the top five records of my career".

When Deep Purple's The Battle Rages On Tour reached Birmingham, England on November 9, 1993, it had already taken in most of Europe. Starting off in Italy and moving around Germany, France and Benelux, it reached the band's home country for a triumphant four sold out shows, one of which would be filmed for the "Come Hell Or High Water" DVD and video. Rumours of Deep Purple not entirely being best pals were floating around within the fan community, but the fact that Deep Purple was in fact on the verge of a break-up only became obvious at the band's final explosive British show in Birmingham.

FEW BANDS CAN BOAST OF A CAREER OF MORE THAN 35 YEARS AND FEWER STILL CAN BE SEEN AS INFLUENTIAL AND RELEVANT TODAY, BUT DEEP PURPLE, "COME HELL OR HIGH WATER" HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REINVENT THEMSELVES TIME AND AGAIN SO THAT THEY ARE NOW TRULY WONDERFUL TO WITNESS IN CONCERT. The Deep Purple saga has taken many twists and turns over the years, and thankfully, since 1994 it appears to have taken a permanent turn for the better. This 2 CD set is a stunning document of the band getting to grips with their heritage and embracing the future with an energy that you would be more likely to see coming from a band who have been around for 35 weeks. As always, the musicianship is spectacular, but now you can listen to a live album that is a worthy successor to Made In Japan, and re-acquaint yourself to a band that you might recently have overlooked.

The roots of hard rock can be traced back to the 1950s, particularly electric blues. In the 1960s, American and British blues and rock bands began to modify rock and roll by adding harder sounds, heavier guitar riffs, bombastic drumming, and louder vocals. By the end of the decade a distinct genre of hard rock was emerging with bands like Led Zeppelin, who mixed the music of early rock bands with a more hard-edged form of blues rock and acid rock, and Deep Purple, who began as a progressive rock group in 1968 but achieved their commercial breakthrough with their fourth and distinctively heavier album, In Rock in 1970. Half a century later Hard Rock music is still one the favorite of millions of fans around the world and The Hard Rock Box showcases in 6 CD's many of the genre's most successful artists and songs.

Jesus Christ Superstar started life as a most improbable concept album from an equally unlikely label, Decca Records, which had not, until then, been widely known for groundbreaking musical efforts. It was all devised by then 21-year-old composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and 25-year-old lyricist Tim Rice. Jesus Christ Superstar had been conceived as a stage work, but lacking the funds to get it produced, the two collaborators instead decided to use an album as the vehicle for introducing the piece, a fairly radical rock/theater hybrid about the final days in the life of Jesus as seen from the point of view of Judas. If its content seemed daring (and perhaps downright sacrilegious), the work, a "sung-through" musical echoing operatic and oratorio traditions, was structurally perfect for an album; just as remarkable as its subject matter was the fact that its musical language was full-blown rock music.

Deep Purple survived a seemingly endless series of line-up changes and a dramatic mid-career shift from grandiose progressive rock to ear-shattering heavy metal to emerge as a true institution of the British hard rock community. Once credited in The Guinness Book of World Records as the globe's loudest band, their revolving-door roster launched the careers of performers including Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, and Ian Gillan…
