Innovative Internal Communication

Richard Wahnfried is the side project of Berlin electronic pioneer Klaus Schulze. The pseudonym's etymology comes from Shulze's admiration for Richard Wagner. The name Wahnfried was previously used in a title from his "Timewind" album. The project has started in the late 70's. Musically it alternates Schulze's usual synth material in his solo works and a handful of instruments as guitar, tribal percussions, saxophone thanks to the collaboration of several famous rock musicians. Each album features guest musicians as the vocalist Arthur Brown on "Time actor" (1979), Schulze's friend and guitarist Manuel Gottsching (Ashra Tempel) on "Tonwelle" (1981). Carlos Santana's drummer Michael Schrieve also participated on several albums. The result is orientated to more mainstream genres with a constant exploration in electronic, "space" synth music.

Night Lines (1993). Terry's use of guitar blended with acoustic and synthesized instruments is almost perfect. Local Australian talent at it's best, Terry and his friends have created a wonderful music style with undertones of Deep Forest and Single Gun Theory. This is his third album, and like the others, is hard to find and virtually unheard of in local stores. How can talent like this be overlooked? It is hard to put this music style into a music store category - Ambient Jazz & World Music - don't quite hit the mark, but if you like browsing these sections of your favorite music store you will enjoy this unique experience. What he lacks in height he makes up for in talent.

One of the pioneering projects in genre of dub-ambient. Ultrabass is a project of Peter Sawatzki (founder of german synthband Boytronic). Peter Sawatzki-Bar released two albums under the name of Ultrabass.
Hypnotic sequential circuits, trancegrooves, ambientfunk, worlddance - house music for meditation. Electronic music has been looking fo fresh impulses since the early eights to renew the at the time not any more progressive Berlin School. Recently the techno, dance and house music artists have displayed a lot of innovation when using elrctronics, sequencers and synthesizers. Ultrabass has been able to capture that imaginative innovation an has injected this electronic "attitude" into the context of contemporary electronic music, but rooting itself in ambient music, trance/dance grooves and hypnotic sequencing.

Frank Fischer takes a giant leap forward on his second album on the German Innovative Communication label. Drawing dual inspiration from the tropical coastline and rugged outback of Australia and from the mighty deserts of the southwestern United States, Frank has created a marvelously relaxed work that conveys the unhurried freedom of the great wide-open spaces. Tales of Mullumbimby is like taking a wonderfully relaxed and relaxing instrumental journey when you are in no hurry to get anywhere and can simply enjoy the pleasant ride.
