Esoteric Antenna is delighted to announce the release of the wonderful new studio album by The John Hackett Band; “We Are Not Alone”. Following on from the album “Another Life” (released on Esoteric Recordings in 2015), Prog flute player John Hackett presents an outstanding album by his newly formed band, featuring Nick Fletcher, Jeremy Richardson and Duncan Parsons. With a heady and eclectic mix of rock-solid song-writing, swirling mellotron and at times, free improvisation, the virtuosic flute and guitar performances shine through the memorable compositions. John’s brother, Steve Hackett, makes a special guest appearance on harmonica on ‘Never Gonna Make A Dime’ which tells the true story of the family’s brief move to Canada in the Fifties.

Steve Tibbetts is an American guitarist, who also plays mandolin, kalimba, and synthesizer, even if he rarely uses these instruments through his various records. He's both an excellent electric and acoustic guitar player and uses much of the resources that studio technology offers. There's also an ethnic/world dimension in his music, especially with the recurrent use of percussions (with the help of Marc Anderson) and other exotic instruments.

This unique event, a celebration of Hard Rock Cafe's 20th anniversary in Japan, brought together "super guitarists" from different genres and backgrounds: Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt shared the spotlight for three nights with ex-Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big and Steve Hackett (ex-Genesis). Completing the line-up were drummer Pat Mastelotto from King Crimson, Roger King on keyboards and Mike Szuter on bass. Fantastic performance!

The length of the two CDs together is 158 minutes. There is only 32 minutes common content with the LP. The 2 CD contains 80 minutes music not can be found on the Blu-Ray. Djabe in 2012 in connection with the Down And Up album release started a concert series in Hungary, Europe and Canada. The tour lasted until the summer of 2014. The gigs are often joined by friends of the band. Steve Hackett played guitar from Genesis, Gulli Briem of Mezzoforte added drums and percussion, living in New York the Canadian born saxophonist John Nugent (Tony Bennett, Ella Fiztgerald) completed the list of guests. The Miskolc concert on 10 November 2013 was particularly unusual because the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra and Sára Kovács on flute also contributed to the program. The 2CD represents each stage line-up of the all the gigs.
