This out-of-print LP was dedicated to a jazz fan, the late Charlie Sullivan. Singers Monique & Louis Aldebert wrote and performed the touching title cut. Otherwise the album is comprised of four adventurous yet mostly swinging originals by tenor saxophonist Gordon Brisker (who doubles on flute), plus a song ("Saturday Matinee") from Bill Mays. Brisker (who wrote the arrangements) heads the all-star modern mainstream quintet which also includes trumpeter Tom Harrell, pianist Cedar Walton, bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Victor Lewis. The playing is excellent, making one regret this record's obscure status. ~ AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow
