John Barleycorn Must Die is the fourth studio album by English rock band Traffic. As did most of their albums, it featured influences from jazz and blues, but the version of the traditional English folk tune "John Barleycorn" also showed the musicians attending to the same strains of modern interpretations of traditional folk music as contemporary British bands Pentangle and Fairport Convention. It marked the band's comeback, and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200, making it their highest charting album in the US, and has been certified a gold record by the RIAA. In addition, the single "Empty Pages" spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 74. The album was marginally less successful in the UK, reaching number 11 on the UK Albums Chart.

Pianist David Hazeltine joins Eric Alexander, Steve Davis, Peter Washington, Jim Rotondi, and Joe Farnsworth for this set of standards including "Corcovado", "Skylark" and "Stolen Moments". More detailed descriptions are really unnecessary for those familiar with the gentlemen that make up One For All; these guys have each developed their individual voices and are among the most in-demand musicians of the current set. And for the uninitiated, this set comes highly recommended as a consummate example of modern mainstream know-how.

For this first album he had waited more than 15 years to make, he assembled established musicians about his age and younger musicians with fresh sensibilities. When this album was recorded in 1975, Yoshiko Goto had been singing for 20 years. In this, another memorable vocal album from Three Blind Mice, Goto is paired wih a quartet led by bassist Takashi Mizuhashi, with young pianist Junichiro Ohashi (this was his recording debut) and alto saxophonist Yoshio Otomo providing romantic solos and counterpoints.

This collection, remastered for SACD, covers the Zombies' short and tasteful career, spanning their 1964-1967 years for Decca Records, and their single album, the classic Odessey & Oracle, for Epic Records in 1968. Two versions of "She's Not There" are included here, one the so-called "stereo underdub" version that lacks the snappy drum overdub that gives the superior single version its crisp, edgy feel. There are also two mixes of "Time of the Season," the familiar version and an alternate mix that features a little more organ in the verse sections.
