Hot Dawgit - The Anthology: The Columbia Years is a luxurious set by the legendary Ramsey Lewis, spanning the award-winning musician, producer and composer's 17-year tenure with Columbia Records. Features 37 tracks including all of Ramsey's charted hits for the label, selected key singles and notable LP cuts drawn from among the eighteen albums he recorded for the label. The Chicago-born octogenarian began his journey as a recording artist at Chess Records in 1966, achieving chart success with his soulful covers of such tracks as 'The In Crowd', 'Wade In The Water' and 'Hang On Sloopy'. In 1972, Ramsey - initially with his famed trio (whose ranks had included a young Maurice White, founder of Earth, Wind & Fire as drummer) - began recording a series of critically-acclaimed albums for Columbia including Upendo Ni Pamoja, Funky Serenity and Solar Wind.

The Peddlers were one of the most improbable success stories in British popular music of the 1960s and 1970s – sporting a spare, minimalist image (right down to their dark clothes and short hair), they played a brand of pop-jazz that was far removed from the rock 'n' roll they had played or the rock music that was sprouting around them, but they scored enough successes to keep going for a decade and record for two different major labels…….

Teddy Randazzo is perhaps best remembered today for being a songwriter and producer during the mid to late 1960s. However he was initially immersed in the girl swooning teen idol sub-genre along with the likes of Fabian, Dion et al. Herein are three original albums, I'm Confessin', Journey To Love and Teddy Randazzo Twists. This is prime late 50s pop. His first two albums were geared to the standards markets and the third was (as the title suggests) devoted to songs that you could twist to. The bonus material includes his biggest solo hit, 'The Way of the Clown' along with a rare Italian language version of the hit.
