Recorded using techniques sympathetic to the 1970s Canterbury-style Progressive Rock sound. The Kentish Spires collectively bring a vast wealth of musical experience – weaving woodwind and reed instruments over beautifully crafted songs with the stunning eccentric English vocals of Lucie V. The Kentish Spires are an UK group formed by Phil WARREN and Danny CHANG from FYREWORKS, that is inspired by the Canterbury scene of the 70's. Robert REED of MAGENTA and CYAN collaborated with them on mastering their debut album which was released in 2018 and features Lucie V, Rik LOVERIDGE, Paul HORNSBY and Helen WILLIAMS on that line-up.

With the studio albums released to date and with spectacular concerts, the Kaleidoscope String Quartet (KSQ) has become internationally established very well over the past years. The four Swiss musicians transcend the classical string quartet format into new dimensions and leave genre limitations behind. On their second work Curiosity, released in fall 2015, they already fascinated with striking timbres and charismatic original compositions. In the following performances they amazed even more with virtuosity, dynamic joy in improvisation and consistently playing without any sheet music. The extra challenge of playing everything by heart, “enables a free, venturesome approach of the musical material and opens space for development and intensification,” the first violinist Simon Heggendorn explains.

Kathryn Elizabeth Smith, known professionally as Kate Smith and The First Lady of Radio, was an American singer, a contralto, best known for her rendition of Irving Berlin's "God Bless America". She had a radio, television, and recording career spanning five decades, which reached its pinnacle in the 1940s. Smith became known as The Songbird of the South after her enduring popularity during World War II and contribution to American culture and patriotism. "Songs Of The Now Generation" is her 1969's album released for RCA Victor label.

Frank calls his work "ambient synthesizer music", but it is probably much more than that. Influenced by artists like Deep Forest, Enigma or Beautiful World, his contributions to the genre are indeed more electronic. He likes sequencers (we too) so the results with them are excellent. There also ethnic traits (listen to that voices), good rhythms, a wide sound palette (including sounds from the nature), and charming melodies which you will want to hear over and over again. Colours is one of the best works around for this type of music. Please, listen to pieces number 2 or 3. They are definitely great! The album contains 12 themes. Frank Van Bogaert composed, arranged and produced them. He also plays all instruments.

Materya - Case (2012) Music

Materya are Italians Andrea Stagni (piano/keyboards, guitars, bass, vocals) and Betty Copeta (vocals), with the assistance of drummers Claudio Trotta (Deus ex Machina) and Marcello Bellina. (There are drums on 7 of 12 tracks.) Stagni, Copeta, and Bellina are all members of Italian prog band AltaVia. Materya is to AltaVia as Aries is to La Maschera di Cera. Betty has a gorgeous, crystalline voice, delivering lyrics in both English and Italian. Stagni also sings, and as a keyboardist sounds influenced by Tony Banks / Genesis. It’s mandatory to mention Renaissance in all cases of prog with pure female vocals, and we comply, but references to Magenta and Karnataka are also apt.
