A pleasing singer in her mid-twenties, Alex Pangman loves the music of the 1920s and '30s. For her second recording for the Canadian Sensation label, she performs 13 vintage obscurities plus a lone standard ("Prisoner of Love") and her own "Melancholy Lullaby." Although her voice is small, it is personable and she digs into the lyrics of such early gems as "Mama's Gone Goodbye," "I Had Someone Else Before I Had You," "Through the Courtesy of Love," "Concentratin' on You," and "Careless." Particularly intriguing are the four separate groups that the singer uses. Her Jazz Manouche is a quartet with trumpeter Chris Whitely, two acoustic guitars, and bass. Her Hired Hands is more in the Western swing vein with trumpeter Peter Ecklund, violinist Erin Solomon, and Whitely on steel guitar, plus two guitars, piano, and bass…

Mike Goudreau presents his 19th album : “Alternate Takes - Vol 1”. A collection of unreleased and reworked tracks that were recorded and produced in various studios between 2000 and 2017. Most of these songs were produced mainly for licensing on network TV and film projects for the many TV/Film contacts Mike has made in the USA since 2007 that have earned him hundreds of placements on TV shows such as : CSI Los Angeles, Bloodline, Life In Pieces, Gotham and the feature film Passengers, most recently just to name a few. This recording features a wide variety of Blues stylings: Blues Rock, Country Blues, Swing , Funk, Jazz, Chicago Blues, Boogie Woogie, Reggae and even a Manouche Swing inspired song ! Accompanied by a great lineup of musicians and long time collaborators help make this album a great showcase of the many eclectic musical genres and influences of Goudreau in numerous variations of the Blue note!

Swingrowers are from Palermo in Sicily and aim to take vintage swing, and with respect and nurture, breathe new life into an old tradition. It’s with their Fresh and yet somehow innately Italian musicianship, combined with the sharp, progressive, but completely sympathetic production style of Roberto that creates the unique sound of the Swingrowers. Vocalist Loredana Grimaldi and DJ / Producer Roberto Costa (AKA ‘Pisk’ - A local drum and bass hero on the Sicilian free-party scene) are joined in their live incarnation by a 'Manouche' guitar player from the local old-boy jazz big band with which Loredana sings in their home town.
