The Affair

Strange Affair is the 16th album by rock band Wishbone Ash. It is the first album in the band's 21-year history without drummer Steve Upton, who quit the band during the album's recording sessions. He was replaced by Robbie France and later by Ray Weston, who would stay with the band until 1994 before rejoining for a much longer period in 1997. Strange Affair is also the final studio album to feature founding members Martin Turner and Ted Turner, who departed in 1991 and 1994 respectively.

"Lady in Satin", Billie Holiday's penultimate studio album, is both revered and reviled by her fans. Recorded in February 1958, a mere 17 months before her death at the age of 44, it was said to be her personal favorite. These historical recordings show that her voice was ravaged by hard times, alcohol and drugs. Yet, heartache always informed her art, and she delivers here with unequated poignancy twelve songs that she'd never recorded before. We celebrate Billie's Holiday 100th birthday with this new and ultimate edition of "Lady In Satin", In addition to all of the original album tracks, all newly remixed and mastered in 24-Bit, the first CD is enhanced by the presence of three bonus tracks, including for the very first time a true stereophonic version of "The End Of A Love Affair"

“Freedom Is Love” is the debut album from Kansas City’s newest soul juggernaut, The Freedom Affair. The album explores themes of love, heartache, empowerment, and togetherness through a varying landscape of hard-hitting funk, luscious soul, and everything in between. The Freedom Affair is a unique collective featuring 3 powerhouse female vocalists in front of a dynamic 6-piece band. On “Freedom Is Love”, each of the ladies get their time to shine individually, but the magic is on full display when all 3 come together in unison and harmony, symbolically embodying the messages that they sing about. The album was recorded and produced by Chris Hazelton, utilizing the best of vintage and new recording technologies to create an authentic experience, befitting of a soul record that would have been relevant 50 years ago as much as it will be 50 years from now.

This reissue on the British-based BGO label contains the band's second (Strange Affair) and fourth (The Return of Ken Whaley) albums along with the bonus LP Happy Days, which was included free with the Ken Whaley album. The LPs were originally released on the United Artists/ Liberty Records label in 1972 and 1973, respectively. Help Yourself remained on the second tier of British bands and was never able to break out commercially. On this set, the band blends its hippie pastoral sounds with a West Coast-styled psychedelia that will appeal to fans of such acts as the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, or even Phish. While the band did achieve some degree of success in the early '70s and developed a large fan base, it broke up after The Return of Ken Whaley…
