Werner Herzog is an Academy Award-nominated German film director, screenwriter, actor, and opera director. One of the most eccentric figures in the New German Cinema, Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) has been characterized as the “romantic visionary” of the movement as well as its most notorious selfpromoter who possesses an almost legendary need to confront danger in making his films. Through his well documented production difficulties - dragging a ship over a mountain, attempting to film the eruption of a volcano, hypnotizing an entire cast on set and Herzog’s obsession with quasi-mystical images and landscapes, it is not surprising that many consider his “documentaries” to be his best work.

This Special Edition Collection contains over 30 Werner Herzog's documentaries and short films available together for the first time worldwide.

I had to hunt for this listing; for some odd reason this CD was buried in the Ultravox listings, almost lost! In any case, this is a great compilition of early Ultravox recordings, picking the cream off their first three albums, before Midge Ure and "Vienna" catapulted them to worldwide acclaim and popularity. But these songs were just as dynamic and moving. This version of Ultravox, of course, had a different lead singer, that being the stylish John Foxx.

Boy is the debut album by Irish rock band U2. It was produced by Steve Lillywhite, and was released on 20 October 1980 on Island Records. Thematically, the album captures the thoughts and frustrations of adolescence. Boy included U2's first hit single, "I Will Follow". The album's release was followed by the group's first tour of continental Europe and the United States, the Boy Tour. The album received generally positive reviews from critics. It peaked at number 52 in the UK and number 63 in the US. In 2003, the album was included at No. 417 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". The magazine wrote, "Too ingenuous for punk, too unironic for new wave, U2 arrived on Boy as big-time dreamers with the ambition to back it up." In 2006, Uncut ranked the album at No. 59 on its list of the "100 Greatest Debut Albums".

Without doubt, the recordings of Tangerine Dream have made the greatest impact on the widest variety of instrumental music during the 1980s and '90s, ranging from the most atmospheric new age and space music to the harshest abrasions of electronic dance. Founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese in Berlin, the group has progressed through a full three dozen lineups (Froese being the only continuous member with staying power) and four distinct stages of development: the experimentalist minimalism of the late '60s and early '70s; stark sequencer trance during the mid- to late '70s, the group's most influential period; an organic form of instrumental music on their frequent film and studio work during the 1980s; and, finally, a more propulsive dance style, which showed Tangerine Dream with a sound quite similar to their electronic inheritors in the field of dance music.
