Marc Erbetta, the bands first and foremost drummer, left his seat to fresh and young blood embodied by Arthur Hnatek, a young musician who lived in New York and plays with groundbreaking artists like Tigran Hamasyan. New inspiration and influences color the new album, taken from a rich and scenic collaboration with the South African dans company VUYANI. Still standing at the frontier of jazz and instrumental pop, balancing between originality and accessibility the ERIK TRUFFAZ QUARTET, faithful to a tradition established since many albums, invites two world renown and award-winning voices to this recording: Rokia Traoré and Oxmo Puccino.

A unique complete collection released for the first time in Los Angeles, California, the Hamazkayin Music Committee is proud to present the works of Aram Khachaturian who was the first composer to place Armenian music on the international podium. By blending his individual creativity with distinctive features common to West European art forms, the style of medieval monophony, Armenian folkloric traditions, the art of ashughs, and the purism of artistic expression of the great Komitas, Khachaturian created a new aesthetic dimension in the art of music…

Comprising three centuries of noted composers' "minor" works, Lubimov's Der Bote (The Messenger) bears out its title with short, introspective pieces that capture thoughts of nostalgia, mourning, and meditation. The first work, C.P.E. Bach's 1787 Fantasy, sounds amazingly avant-garde, full of surprising darts and turns. And the experimental 20th-century composer John Cage's "In a Landscape" is an even bigger surprise. Instead of random keyboard plink-plunks, it's a diaphanous Debussyan tone poem, bound to startle party guests playing Name That Composer… –Dan Davis
