"The Long Wait" is a musical expression of living in the complicated, fast-paced, yet always interesting metropolis that is New York City. The album’s title has a double meaning for me in that it was written during the long period of isolation we collectively experienced together in 2020, but also became the title track due to the extended length of time it took to release this music.

d'Eon is Montreal-based composer / producer Chris d'Eon - Since beginning his musical practice in the 2000s, his unclassifiable catalog has presented us with baroque keyboard performances, digital chamber music, hi-definition beatmaking in the pop and R&B idioms, glitchy abstractions composed with chance operations and digital hyper-fragmentation tactics, and all manner of experiments that attest to his drive to reach the outer limits of eclectic composition.

There are moments that are forever imprinted in one’s mind. Feelings and impressions from scenes past from decades before can be recalled instantaneously with the appropriate trigger. These memories shape lives and attitudes, whether recalled impeccably or distorted by time.

This autumn, Erased Tapes are set to release ‘Give It to the Sky: Arthur Russell’s Tower of Meaning Expanded’ by composer and producer Peter Broderick and French 12-piece group Ensemble 0; a complete re-recording of Russell’s epic minimalist orchestral composition originally released in 1983. ‘Give It to the Sky’ also includes unreleased tracks by Russell which have been restored and re-recorded, resulting in an 80-minute reanimation that threads several lost songs into a meticulous and gorgeous rendering. The album was recorded live as a group in a small theatre in the Southwest of France with minimal overdubs.

A new release from the Takács Quartet is guaranteed to be a highlight of the musical year, and this one easily exceeds all expectations. The ‘American’ quintet dates from Dvořák’s sojourn in the New World, the quartet from his return to old-world Prague; both are marvellous works, sounding here every bit the masterpieces they undoubtedly are.

"Already during my childhood, I became absorbed in Scriabin’s universe and fascinated with the idea of embracing the transformation of his style in one concert. With this program, I draw together pieces that are connected through the realization of similar ideas in Scriabin’s different stylistic periods. For example, the pathetic, rebellious line is drawn in the Etude op. 8 no. 12, Prelude op. 11 no. 14, Prelude op. 27 no. 1, Poeme op. 32 no. 2, Preludes op. 48 no. 1&4 and going to op. 74…"

The Schumann Quartet dedicates its latest studio production "1923" to that year in which new musical paths were sought, found or questioned and at the same time the birth of radio heralded a new age for composers and the dissemination of their works. The CD programme brings together selected quartet music by Paul Hindemith, Alban Berg, Erwin Schulhoff and Leoš Janáček.

Jeremy Stephens, Corrina Rose Logston Stephens and Kurt Stephenson, multi-talented musicians and singers for High Fidelity, could be considered bluegrass archaeologists who excavate rare gems of forgotten or overlooked bluegrass and old-time music and make them shine again for new audiences. This latest collaborative endeavor by the band brings forth gospel treasures that will move your feet and your soul.

Snõõper (the Project) began as a collaboration between local Nashville punk mainstay Connor Cummins and Blair Tramel, an early education teacher with a sideline in wickedly funny animation and art. As their cassette tapes and homemade videos began to find scattered fans around the world, the duo brought the Project to the live stage in late 2021 and Snõõper (the Band) was born.
