The complete set of Bohuslav Martins piano trios affords a fascinating insight into the constant transformations of his musical idiom from the early 1930s to the 1950s, also giving testimony to the composer as a human and his particular mindset. The first, five- movement, trio, Cinq pièces brèves (1930) was written in a carefree manner (within a mere ten days) and intuitively. It is the very first Martin piece to reflect his penchant for Neo–Baroque music, so salient a trait of his later creations.

The album includes original compositions and standards by Cy Coleman and Charlie Parker. This album is called "Clearway", which is the name of the street where Amaury lived when he was in Boston.

This is where our performers find a bridge that connects Juon’s kaleidoscopic tone poem with PETER TCHAIKOVSKY’s colossal Piano Trio, op. 50, a musical epitaph for pianist and conductor Nikolai Rubinstein, who had been Tchaikovsky’s friend and mentor.

The 11 works Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) created for piano trio make up a group of pieces equally remarkable as his 16 string quartets. With over half of them written before 1800, prior to the composer's turning 30, they clearly reveal his creative flights and struggles, first and foremost serving to attest to the grand formation of Beethoven's compositional principles and the attainment of his apex.

The centenary of his birth (15.2.2005) has passed unnoticed by many music lovers. It is Harold Arlen's fate that he is credited as composer for more jazz standards of the Great American Songbook than any other writer, but nevertheless remains unknown to a great deal of his audience.
